Proteas left-arm spinner Robin Peterson is looking forward to being back home for the second test against New Zealand in Port Elizabeth from Friday.
The attacking all-rounder now lives in Cape Town, but grew up in Gelvandale and is a product of Alexander Road High School.
He first represented Eastern Province and then the Warriors before making the switch to the Cobras.
Speaking ahead of the Proteas first practice session yesterday, Peterson said it was always great to play cricket at Axxess St Georges where it all started for him more than ten years ago.
He expects New Zealand to find St Georges more to their liking than Newlands and says he is taking his cricket one match at a time in what will be only his 9th test match.
Vernon Philander has been ruled out of the PE test with that troublesome hamstring that worried him during his man-of-the-match performance in the first test at Newlands.
Rory Kleinveldt returns to earn his third test cap for the Proteas.
