Man of the Match Morne Morkel took five wickets and Hashim Amla hit 92 runs as South Africa coasted to a six wicket, series-clinching win over New Zealand in the second one-day cricket international in Napier earlier today.
Morkel (5-38) and Lonwabo Tsotsobe (3-43), provoked a collapse which saw New Zealand slump from 163-2 in the 33rd over to be all out for an inadequate 230 in 47.3 overs.
In reply, the Proteas cruised to 231 for 4 in 38.2 overs - they win by six wickets with 70 balls to spare.
Captain AB de Villiers finished on 31 not out, Faf du Plessis weighed in with 34 batting at number three, and JP Duminy continued his resurgence with a well crafted 43 off 39 balls.
De Villiers said it would be important to perform well in the dead-rubber in Auckland on Saturday ahead of the three test series starting in Dunedin next Wednesday.
