Number one Test-ranked South Africa's players now head the Test Player Rankings in batting, bowling and all-rounders, after the side's 211 run win over Pakistan in the first Test at the Wanderers.
Amla has taken over the number-one position for batsmen for the first time in his career, after entering the Johannesburg Test trailing Australia captain Michael Clarke by just one ratings point. Amla now heads both the Test and ODI batting tables.
Fast bowler Dale Steyn retained his number one position in the bowling rankings after his man of the match haul of 11 for 60 at the Wanderers. Jacques Kallis still heads the rankings for Test all-rounders.
AB de Villiers is at a career-best fourth position in the batting rankings after his 103 not out in the second innings in a test in which he equalled the world record of 11 catches behind the stumps, shared with Jack Russell of England.
