Hosts South Africa will face Cape Verde in the opening match of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations at Soccer City in Soweto on the 19th of January next year.
Bafana is one of four seeded teams and was included with Cape Verde, Angola and Morocco in Group A in last night's draw in Durban.
Ghana were drawn alongside Mali, Niger and DRC in Group B.
Title holders Zambia will face Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia in Group C.
Ivory Coast, seeded in Group D, are up against Tunisia, Algeriaand Togo.
The first matches at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth will be a double header on Sunday 20 January when Ghana play DR Congo at 5pm followed by Mali against Niger at 8pm
