The Banyana Banyana women's national soccer team is only two games away from jogging out at this year's Paris Olympic Games after a stellar performance at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Tuesday evening.
Banyana Banyana hosted Tanzania in the second leg of the CAF Olympic qualifier and beat them 1-0 to advance to the fourth round of the qualifiers.
Last week the South African team beat Tanzania 3-0 in the first leg on their home ground in Dar es Salaam.
The team will face one of their biggest rivals Nigeria's Super Falcons over two legs to be played between 1 and 9 April where the winner of the two will qualify for the Paris Olympics.
It was a rocky start for the women's team but they seemed to ease into things during the second half which saw the goal from captain Thembi Kgatlana.
Though the visitors pulled out all stops to try and match the Banyana Banyana's flair, it was goalkeeper Kaylin Swart who posed a big hurdle for them by blocking their chances of equalising.
The cherry on top of the second leg clash was Jermaine Seoposenwe who jogged out in the national colours for a 100th time.
THANK YOU Mpumalanga! You were amazing at Mbombela stadium last night! ????
