Port Elizabeth surfing ace Faye Zoetmulder is going to be out of action for at least 6 months after breaking her leg in a freak accident in Margaret River, Australia. She broke her leg in three places during a skate boarding training session on Wednesday.
Faye is currently on tour in Australia on the ASP women's qualifying circuit and was in Margaret River ahead of the 3rd event of the Series which starts today.
Currently ranked in the top 40 in the world, the young PE surfer is expected to be out of action for at least 6 months and will miss out on the remainder of the tour in Europe , Peru and the SA Champs later this year.
Faye has been transferred to Bunbury hospital where she is currently undergoing an operation and she'll return to South Africa for rehabilitation once she is able to fly.
