Little time to celebrate for EP Kings

The EP Kings have little time to celebrate after Saturday's thrilling 26-25 win over the Pumas which saw them lift the Absa Currie Cup first division trophy at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

They now have four days to recover before heading off to Bloemfontein for the first leg of the promotion-relegation playoffs against the Free State Cheetahs.

The return leg will be back in Port Elizabeth a week later.

The Cheetahs finished bottom of the Absa Currie Cup table after losing 36-15 to Western Province on Saturday.

Griquas lost 42-3 to the Sharks in Durban but finished above the Cheetahs on the log in 5th place.

The Blue Bulls beat the Lions 50-29 in Johannesburg to secure their place in the playoffs.

In the semi-finals on Saturday, the Sharks host the Bulls at Kings Park and the Lions are at home to Western Province

Meanwhile: The Springbok Sevens put the disappointment of a semifinal loss to eventual champions Fiji behind them to power to a 41-7 win over Kenya to claim third place at the Gold Coast Sevens in Australia.
