After two days and four matches, it is going to take mammoth effort to derail Southern Cape's bid for promotion in the B-Section of the SA Inter-provincial Golf Championships at PE Golf club.

They routed Border 10-2 on Tuesday and also accounted for North West Province 8-4.

Hosts Eastern Province kept their bid for promotion alive when they dominated the singles to beat Ekurhuleni 6½ - 5½, but it was the third time the home side trailed after the morning foursomes.

Central Gauteng stayed in command of the A-section with an 8.5 - 3.5 win over Kwazulu-Natal.
