Port Elizabeth paralympic swimmer Kevin Paul successfully qualified for a 5th event at this year's London paralympics at an international gala in Germany at the weekend.
Kevin, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Saturday, came third in the 400 metre freestyle in a time of 4 minutes 22. 72 seconds.
He was a full 5 seconds inside the the paralympic qualifying time of 4-minutes 28 seconds in his first attempte at qualifying for this race.
He also won the 200 breastroke and 50 breastroke in his SB 9 class in Germany.
Kevin is the reigning paralympic champion in the 100 metre breastroke and has already qualified in this discipline for London as well as in the 50 and 100 metre freestyle and in the 200 metre individual medley.
