Kenya's Daniel Ebenyo won the men's Absa Run Your City 10k race in Gqeberha on Sunday morning in an unofficial time of 27 min 23 secs.
Second was South Africa's Precious Mashele (27' 36") and fellow countryman, Thabang Mosiako (27' 51")
In the women's race, Ethiopian Bekelech Wariyo took the honors in 31 mins 37 secs.
Mosiako of the Eastern Cape is the holder of the provincial record.
Mashele says he is ecstatic about breaking the South African record.
He says he has trained hard with another SA champ, Stephen Mkoka who came in at 8th.
Mashele says his next goal is to beat Ebenyo.
