Ireland win first ever Test series in Australia after crucial TMO call at the death

SYDNEY, Australia, June (ANA) – Ireland won a third Test nail-biter 20-16 at the Allianz Stadium, Sydney, on Saturday to clinch the series 2-1 against Australia.

The final result was in the balance right to the final minute when the TMO made a call in favour of Ireland and with it, Australia's hopes of saving the match evaporated into the Sydney night air.

The touring Irish led 12-9 at halftime.

Australia won the opening Test in Brisbane 1-0 and then Ireland responded in Melbourne a week later with an impressive 26-21 victory to take the Series to a winner takes all decider at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.  – African News Agency (ANA)
