Heidfeld to race endurance/Curt Alchin's funeral arrangements

Former Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld will compete in the famous Le Mans 24 Hours and two further 2012 world endurance championship races for Swiss team Rebellion Racing.

The team said in a statement today that 34-year-old Heidfeld would share a Lola-Toyaota with Nicolas Prost and Neel Jani at the 80th edition of the Le Mans race, the Sebring 12 Hours and the Spa 6 Hours.

Heidfeld made his F1 debut in 2000 but was dropped midway through the 2011 season by Lotus-Renault.

And we've just received the funeral details for multiple SA Motorsport champion Curt Alchin.
44-year-old Alchin died tragically in an accident at Victory Raceway on Schoenmakerskop road on Saturday night.

He will be buried from the Word of Faith Church on William Moffat in Port Elizabeth at one o'clock on Friday afternoon.

Following the burial, a wake will be held at Victory Raceway.
