Grace in the mix at US Open

Fancourt's Branden Grace fired a third round 72 to move into the top-10 at the US Open at Shinnecock Hills on Saturday.

Grace’s seven-over total following earlier rounds of 76 and 69 saw the 30-year-old rise 16 spots on the day. The eight-time European Tour winner Grace is just four shots off the lead heading into the final round.

Overnight leader Dustin Johnson of America struggled as his four-shot cushion was erased as he signed for a seven-over 77. Johnson, however, is still tied for the lead but is now joined by Americans Daniel Berger, Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka on three-over for the tournament.

Englishman Justin Rose is a shot off the lead at four over par,  one clear of Swede Henrik Stenson and two ahead of Thai Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Masters champion Patrick Reed and US Ryder Cup Captain Jim Furyk.

Louis Oosthuizen carded a third round 75 to end on 11-over, and settle in a tie for 33rd.

The only other South African to make the cut, Dean Burmester, also signed for a 75 on the day to end on 13-over, in a share of 50th
