Fancourt's Branden Grace fired a third round 72 to move into the top-10 at the US Open at Shinnecock Hills on Saturday.
Grace’s seven-over total following earlier rounds of 76 and 69 saw the 30-year-old rise 16 spots on the day. The eight-time European Tour winner Grace is just four shots off the lead heading into the final round.
Overnight leader Dustin Johnson of America struggled as his four-shot cushion was erased as he signed for a seven-over 77. Johnson, however, is still tied for the lead but is now joined by Americans Daniel Berger, Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka on three-over for the tournament.
Louis Oosthuizen carded a third round 75 to end on 11-over, and settle in a tie for 33rd.
The only other South African to make the cut, Dean Burmester, also signed for a 75 on the day to end on 13-over, in a share of 50th
