The Kings 'Red and Black Army' fund opened on Friday in support of cash-strapped EP Kings rugby players, has already had more than R7 000 deposited into its bank account.
The man behind the 'Red and Black Army' supporters club and the fund - Stuart Weir - says there have been a total of 32 donations to date - the biggest donation being one for one-thousand rand.
There have been eight R500 donations.
The group of trustees overseeing the fund are Weir himself, Gary Gravett (Legal representative), Robert Blignault ( Ex EP Rugby Player), Graeme Sauls (Businessman and Sports Administrator), and Tim Whitehead ( Players representative)
Weir says that even though Whithead excercised his legal right to leave the Kings last month, and is currently in Cape Town, he is extremely excited to be able to be part of this process.
Players have not been paid their salaries since October 2015
