Bafana Bafana caretaker coach Steve Komphela has released five players from the squad that will face Gabon in an international friendly at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Friday. Kickoff is at 8-30pm
Captain Steven Pienaar, striker Katlego Mphela, midfielders Oupa Manyisa and Thanduyise Khuboni as well as defender Bongani Khumalo have all been allowed to go home.
Komphela said that having drawn the two world cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and Botswana - he was releasing players for the friendly as he wanted to see what other players had to offer.
