The organisers of the annual Fish River Canoe Marathon at Cradock have announced the cancellation of this year’s event because of Covid 19.
The annual two day classic on the mighty Fish River would have taken place on 25 and 26 September.
With guaranteed water flow of 26 cumecs, the Fish annually attracts paddlers from across the globe.
However, Race Chairman Roy Copeman says there’s simply no indication when mass participation events and functions will be able to start.
He says its therefore in the best interests of some 1 500 paddlers who attend annually that they cancel this year’s edition of the Fish River Canoe Marathon.
