The final match of the Tri-Nations Series between Ireland and Belgium was abandoned with 38 seconds left to the half-time whistle last night after the lightning surrounding the Randburg Stadium made it too dangerous for the players to continue.
The scores were level 1-1 at the time.
South Africa secured the title the night before and Belgium end up runner's up with Ireland in third.
The Belgium and South Africa women's hockey team squads' focus now turns to the two-Test series, which takes place at Randburg tomorrow and Sunday.
