South Africa slumped to the lowest ever total when they were bowled out by England for 64 runs in just 19.4 overs in their second innings at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein to lose the test match by a massive 286 runs with more than a day to spare.
Supersport.com reports that it was England’s first test victory in 10 years.
SA captain, Laura Wolvaardt, said post-match that the loss was very disappointing.
“We played some good cricket for a lot of the match but let it slip in the last hour or two. All credit to England though.
“The middle session on day one hurt us quite a bit, but we did well after that to bring it back,” she said.
Wolvaardt also praised bowler Nonkululeko Mlaba who became the first SA woman to take 10 wickets in a test match.

She said the Proteas Women would like to play more test cricket, saying there’s only so much one can do in the nets.
Wolvaardt said they will learn from this game, adding that they will take a bit of time off and reflect.
