DRCongo search for decent PE training venue

The DR Congo National football team has had a frustrating first two days in Port Elizabeth on a pre-AFCON training camp which is set to run until the 21st of December.

Their head coach was unhappy with training conditions in Motherwell yesterday and sent his 2IC to explore other options in Zwide this morning.

Speaking through a translator at the team hotel this morning, media head Mzila Fanam said 15 players had made the trip to PE and that 7 others were expected in the coming days.

He said it was purely a strategic camp and that no matches were being planned against local opposition.

DRC are two-time Afcon champions and will be playing two matches at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the 2013 edition in January and February.
The team is planning a second training camp in Asia from the 3rd to the 15th of January before returning to South Africa.
