Newlands: Cricket South Africa
There's 'no room at the inn' for either Nelson Mandela Bay's iconic St George's Park Cricket Ground nor Buffalo Park in East London for India's tour to South Africa in December and January.
The tour commences on Friday, 17 December 2021 and ends on Wednesday, 26 January 2022 and will be played across all three formats.
Cricket South Africa announced on Friday that the three Test matches, known as the Freedom Series, will be played at the Wanderers, Supersport Park/Centurion and Newlands, with the Freedom Trophy up for grabs.
The Test matches will form part of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle and will be followed by three ODI's and four T20 Internationals.
"CSA is excited to welcome India back to South Africa, which also significantly marks the 30th anniversary of South Africa's first tour to India after re-entry into International Cricket in 1991. This tour affirms our unique relationship with the BCCI," said Graeme Smith, CSA Director of Cricket.
