The Ironman Group says its virtually a war room situation, and that the circumstances of each athlete are being dealt with on a case by case basis.
At this stage, however, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has NOT proposed altering arrangements for public events.
Therefore, the Ironman Group says it will be proceeding with the IRONMAN African Championship as planned on Sunday 29 March.
It will also be continuing with the popular Isuzu Corporate Ironman Challenge powered by Algoa FM the day before on Saturday 28 March.
IronKids is not taking place this year because of the lack of a title sponsor.
