A Super 15 rugby citing commissioner says eye-gouging allegations leveled by two Bulls players against the Crusaders after a weekend match in Pretoria cannot be substantiated. SANZAR chief executive Greg Peters said the commissioner had reviewed video footage of the match and had found there was no case to answer.
Bulls forwards Chiliboy Ralepelle and Flip van der Merwe complained to referee Jaco Peyper that they had been eye-gouged
during Saturday's match, won 32-30 by the Bulls at Loftus.
The table topping Stormers made it six wins out of six with an impressive 21-6 win over the then second-placed Highlanders in Dunedin.
The Cheetahs beat the Lions 26-5 in Bloemfontein and the Sharks went down 42-18 to the Hurricanes in New Plymouth.
The Stormers are now two points ahead of the Waikato Chiefs who beat the Western Force 20-12 in Perth.
