South Africa's top marathon runners will be competing for over 276-thousand rands in prize money in Sunday's SA Marathon Championships in George.
The winners in both the men's and women's races take home 50-thousand bucks.
There will be a new men's champion this year as last year's winner is not competing.
Gauteng North's Charne Bosman is back to defend her title and says one of her main challengers will come from Ntombesintu Mfunzi of Port Elizabeth.
Bosman says her main goal on Sunday is to qualify for this year's marathon at the London Olympics which would mean running a time of 2-hours 37 minutes which is 2-minutes faster than her current personal best.
