Boks grapple with injuries ahead of PE Test

Three Springboks who picked up injuries in Saturday’s second Test against England in Johannesburg will be assessed in the coming days.

The Springboks clinched the series at Coca-Cola Park when they won the second Test 36-27.

But Lock Juandré Kruger (neck) , flank Willem Alberts (knee)  and fullback Pat Lambie (ankle) all left the field injured.

Bok coache Heyneke Meyer said they will decide by Wednesday  whether the three will play in Saturday's third and final test at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.

The Boks arrived in Port Elizabeth yesterday and will hold an open training session at Grey High School at 3pm - its open to the public and the team will sign autographs afterwards.

Meanwhile: A shoulder injury has ruled England scrum-half Ben Youngs out of the third and final test.

The Leicester Tigers half-back starred in the 36-27 second test defeat in Johannesburg at the weekend,  scoring two opportunist second-half tries to spark a brave second-half comeback.

Harlequins Karl Dickson is expected to arrive in South Africa today as a replacement and could face the Baa Baas North team in a mid-week tour match in Potchefstroom tomorrow - before the team moves ont Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
