Nigeria qualified for the Paris Olympic Games by virtue of their 1-nil aggregate lead over Bafana Bafana.
The teams played to a goalless draw in Pretoria last night, but the penalty goal in Abuja on Friday, helped see them through to the Olympic Games for the first time in 16 years.
Supersport.com reports that they will face world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil in the first round of the 25 July - 10 August tournament in France.
Banyana-Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis said the team gave all they had but could unfortunately not convert the chances they had.
"Not qualifying for the Olympics is rather disappointing and sad but South Africa can be proud of the team," she added.
Full-time!
