The Momentum Proteas have beaten Pakistan by six runs in their second match of the ICC Women's World Cup at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.

Pakistan, who had already lost their opening two matches to India and Australia, were bowled out for 217 in the 50th over, chasing a victory target of 224.

The SA ladies earlier made 223 for 9 in their 50 overs after being sent in to bat - Laura Wolvaardt top scoring with 75 and captain Sune Luus weighing in with a knock of 62.

Its back to back wins for the Proteas after they beat Bangladesh by 32 runs in their opening game.

Luus said they were not getting caught up in all the noise of many people predicting a South Africa vs Australia final.

"We are taking it one game at a time so the focus now turns to the match against England on Monday. It's exciting because I believe our best cricket is still to come."
