Australia took a one-nil lead in the test series after beating the Proteas by six wickets at the Gabba on Sunday, winning inside two days.
South Africa were bundled out for 152 in their first innings before the hosts put on 218 runs.
Australia then dismissed the Proteas for 99 runs in their second innings, leaving themselves a victory target of 34, which they knocked off in under eight overs.
Kagiso Rabada finished with eight wickets in the match, claiming four for 76, and four for 13 as a record 19 wickets fell on the second day.
Cricket South Africa said the Proteas needed to bat well in their second innings, but again the green surface and Australia’s strong bowling attack applied pressure from the outset.
"Dean Elgar (2), Rassie van der Dussen (0), and Sarel Erwee (3) were all back in the dressing room with only five on the board. It left all the pressure on Temba Bavuma who found support in rookie Khaya Zondo as the pair added 42 for the fourth wicket."
Bavuma made 29 to go with his first-innings 38, before falling to Nathan Lyon while Zondo went on to top score with an unbeaten 36 with the Proteas rolled over in 37.4 overs.
The second test is on Boxing Day in Melbourne.
