A group of 18 former EP Kings rugby players has intervened in the liquidation process of cash strapped EP Rugby Pty Ltd
The group's lawyer Craig Jessop told AlgoaFM News that his clients were joining the liquidation process as co-applicants and in their own capacity after EP Rugby failed to meet a deadline of midnight on Sunday to pay them R12 million in arrears and damages over the non payment of salaries.
Last week, a separate group of EP Kings players represented by the SA Rugby Player's Association announced that they were bringing an application for liquidation against EP Rugby.
Jessop said he had been advised that EP Rugby would be opposing the move to liquidate the organisation.
He said his clients and EP Rugby would now exchange papers and that argument on the matter would be heard in the Port Elizabeth High Court on the 10th of March.
