Fernando Alonso extended his lead in this year's Formula One drivers' world championship when he drove to a flawless victory for Ferrari in the German Grand Prix.
The 30-year-old Spaniard started from pole position and dominated the 67-lap race at Hokkenheim to finish 3.7 seconds ahead of Sebastian Vettel of Red Bul.
Vettel was later handed a 20sec drive-through penalty for passing Jenson Button in a run-off area on the penultimate lap.
It dropped the German down to 5th place and elevated Button to second in his Mclaren.
Finland's Kimi Raikkonen completed the podium in his Lotus.
Alonso is now 34 points clear of Red Bull's Mark Webber in the title race with 154 points to the Australian's 120.
