All set for final day fireworks at Africa Open
Defending champion Louis Oosthuizen and South African countryman Tjaart van der Walt lead on 21 under par going into Sunday’s final round of the one-million euro Africa Open at East London Golf Club.
Van der Walt had a 3rd round of 8-under 65 and caught Oosthuizen who had to settle for a 6-under 67.
2009 Africa Open Champion Retief Goosen is alone in third place on 20-under par after a third round of 66 when the wind got only slightly stronger than the calm conditions of the first two days. The leading international in the field is the Englishman Danny Willett who is alone in fourth place on a 3-round total of 19-under par after a 3rd round 65.
Lyle Rowe of Port Elizabeth golf club snuck in on the cut-line of 5-under par and had a superb third round of 8-under 65 which catapulted him up the leader board into a share of 13th place on a 13-under par total headed into the final round.
Branden Grace of Buffelsbaai at Knysna is on a three-round total of 10 under after a third round 69 and Walmer Country Club’s Titch Moore is at four-under par. He battled manfully with a sore right shoulder and shot a 2-over 75 in the third round.
