Top Musicians to turn Baakens Valley into the Valley of Dreams
“Performing live is the best feeling!,” says Jordan Arts, who will be performing live for the first time at the Valley of Dreams Music Festival in the Baakens Valley on Saturday, 30 November.
Nelson Mandela Bay music lovers can expect to hear some new unreleased music that Jordan Arts has been creating in London.
“My style of music is a combination of different genres and sounds into one. “I want to break the barrier between live music and electronic production,” added Jordan who will be performing from 16.00 at the Festival.
SA's premier acoustic dance music act, Rubber Duc will be onstage from 17.30.
“We love performing to people of all ages and we’re lucky enough to have the same people love us back, enthused Nick Jordaan.
“We strive to have a good energy and engage a hell of a lot with the audience. The crowd singing back to us, it’s incredible and nothing compares to it!”, added Jordaan.
South African rock band, Just Jinjer, are promising to deliver a special magic for festival goers when they perform from 20.15.
“There is a special magic that happens when the three original members combine forces on stage, says Ard Matthews.
This trio, Ard on vocals and guitar, Denholm Harding on Bass Guitar, and Brent Harris on Drums, have been part of the solid foundation of Just Jinjer since their inception.
“We love the freedom we all feel when we’re on stage. “The love we feel from the audience is the fuel that inspires us to give our all,” said Matthews.
The first Valley of Dreams Music Festival, powered by Algoa FM, will be set against the stunning backdrop of the Baakens Valley, on Saturday, 30 November.
Friends and families can listen to some top-class musicians from 12.00 noon and enjoy a jam-packed programme until 23.00.
The festival will host a superb mix of food and craft trucks, family-friendly picnic benches, and a Kids Play Park from 12.00-18.00.
Alabaster Street will be closed for the day and Festival goers can also choose to support Remo’s Italian and Richmond Hill Brewing Company, with convenient parking accessible from both Upper and Lower Valley roads.
Festival organiser, Dante Cicognini, said the event would serve as a fundraiser to maintain and improve the Baakens Valley.
“Through the Baakens Valley Business cluster we plan on running this event annually to raise funds to tackle many projects.
“By securing the necessary funding and support, we believe that we can transform Nelson Mandela Bay's green lung into a safe, vibrant, and sustainable space that benefits the entire community,” he said.
