It's all systems go for the 26th annual Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer presented by ISUZU Motors South Africa, the Eastern Cape’s biggest mass participation charity event.

Walks are being staged in George, Gqeberha and East London, with around 12 000 participants expected to turn the Summerstrand beachfront in Gqeberha pink.

The venues are Pollock Beach in Gqeberha, Phillip Kahts Stadium in East London, and the George Golf Club.

In Gqeberha there will be rolling road closures along Beach Road from Hobie Beach to Admiralty Way between 07:00 and 11:00.

There are no road closures in East London and George.

The events all start at 08:00.

Pleasant walking weather is expected at all three venues.

The beneficiaries for 2024 are Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC), St Francis Hospice and St Bernard's Hospice.
