The ultimate music festival set against the stunning backdrop of the Baakens Valley

Dante Cicognini, businessman, restauranteur, and passionate Italian is the man behind the first Valley of Dreams Music Festival fundraiser to maintain and improve the Baakens Valley.

He shared his vision to bring the first Valley of Dreams Music Festival to the Bay.

“I have a deep love; one could almost call it a calling, to help this city find its way back to greatness, through the Baakens Valley Business cluster we plan on running this event annually to raise funds to tackle many projects.

“By securing the necessary funding and support, we believe that we can transform Nelson Mandela Bay's green lung into a safe, vibrant, and sustainable space that benefits all members of the community.

“The Music Festival is a great opportunity for families and friends to connect, enjoy music and food for a worthwhile cause,” added Dante.

The first Valley of Dreams Music Festival, powered by Algoa FM, will be held in the Baakens Valley, off Alabaster Street, South End, on Saturday, 30 November.

Top-class musicians will be performing in the bay supported by popular local acts. The Festival kicks off at 12.00 and includes a jam-packed programme with Just Jinjer, Rubber Duc and Jordan Arts.

The Festival will include a superb mix of food and craft trucks, family-friendly picnic benches, and a cool Kids Village with a play area. Alabaster Street will be closed for the day and Festinos will enjoy the Street Party Vibe and support popular Italian restaurant, Remo’s and RHBC.

Only Alabaster Street will be closed with easy access for the public from both Upper and Lower Valley roads and plenty of convenient parking.

Proceeds from the Valley of Dreams Music Festival will benefit the Baakens Valley. The funds will be managed by The Baakens Valley Business Cluster, formed under the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber to take ownership of the Baakens Valley and create sustainable solutions to maintain and improve this beautiful city asset.

Tickets cost between R150 and R250 and are available via Webtickets.
