Power Couples in Algoa FM’s broadcast area are being given the opportunity to take part in a new prime time reality show to be screened on M-Net Channel 101 later this year.
“The competition is open to adventurous couples who are confident in themselves and believe that their relationship and knowledge of each other’s strengths and weaknesses is good enough to earn big prizes,” says Toinette Koumpan, Algoa FM Marketing Manager.
Algoa FM launched the search for the Power Couple on Friday, January 30.
All couples who are South African residents and both over 21 are eligible to enter.
In the show eight couples will share a luxurious villa in Camps Bay, Cape Town. Their relationship will be tested through a series of “tough and spectacular challenges”, she says.
The winning couple will win almost a million rand.
Algoa FM will be hosting special Eastern Cape based auditions in association with M-Net in February.
“We are delighted that due to our good relationship with Mnet, we are able to offer our broadcast area great opportunities such as Power Couple and the annual Idols Auditions that we host,” says Koumpan.
Couples who believe their relationship has the power to walk away with a million rand can apply online through the Algoa FM website.
Entries close on Tuesday, and the top three Algoa Country Power Couples will be selected by an Algoa FM panel of judges the next day.
The shortlisted couples will be announced on the Daron Mann Breakfast Show on Thursday, 5 February.
Then comes the first elimination on Tuesday, 10 February, when the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and challenged.
The winners will be announced on the same day, and will leave on the 14th of February for auditions in Cape Town.
