Call for nominations for inaugural EC tourism awards

Organisers of the Eastern Cape’s inaugural Tourism Awards are calling for nominations for the prestigious event pencilled into the calendar for September.

The Eastern Cape Tourism Awards and Expo was launched at Mentors Kraal in Jeffreys Bay on Thursday and will take place at the same venue from 25 to 27 September, during Tourism Month.

In a statement, the organisers said that the province is “set to shine a spotlight on its thriving tourism sector with the launch of the inaugural Eastern Cape Tourism Awards & Expo”.

“The ECTA will celebrate the exceptional contributions of stakeholders across the Eastern Cape's diverse tourism landscape,” said Nqobile ‘Nobs’ Qupe, a committee member of ECTA.

Riaaz Lorgat of the Kouga Municipality said the Awards will acknowledge excellence in various sectors, highlighting the region's unique offerings and solidifying its position as a premier tourism destination in South Africa.
