Barney’s Tavern proudly hosted its annual charity Golf Day, uniting golfers and sponsors for a worthy cause.

Held at Humewood Golf Club earlier in November, this year’s event supported the Mandela Bay Beachfront Cluster, an NPO part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

The funds raised - an impressive R49,740 - will be invested in improving our beloved beachfront experience for everyone.

This will include the installation of additional surveillance cameras and lighting, creating a safer environment for both locals and visitors.

Additionally, the funds will contribute to various ongoing initiatives that the Beachfront Cluster tirelessly manages to improve and maintain the area.

The success of the day was made possible by the generous contributions of all our sponsors involved, with special mention of our main sponsors: Axxess, SAB Inbev, Algoa FM, Satin Global, and The ProShop.

According to a media statement, their unwavering support, alongside the participation of golfers, helped bring the initiative to life.

A special thanks also went to Craig Mittens, owner of Barney’s Tavern and host of the golf day, for his commitment to uplifting the community year after year.

A cheque handover marked the event’s conclusion.
