Algoa FM searching for Youth Day presenters

Algoa FM is on the search again for grade 11 scholars from Port Elizabeth  and East London to takeover the airwaves on Thursday, 16 June 2016.

The project was started in 2014 and gives young people the opportunity to be trained in radio broadcasting, after school, for a period of up to a month leading up to Youth Day.

“On Youth Day, our young presenters, producers and newsreaders take the spotlight, capably co-hosted by the likes of Daron Mann, Gordon Graham and Mio Khondleka”, says Algoa FM’s Operations Director, Alfie Jay.

“We  love  imparting our industry knowledge on these young minds and influencing them positively. This is our investment in the future of good radio. It really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these scholars to work with experienced and talented professionals in the industry. It’s also an experience that will stay with them for life,” says Algoa FM’s Programme Manager, Baydu Adams.

Training takes place at Algoa FM’s studios at both the Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth and Hemingways Mall in East London.

“We look forward to welcoming this year’s Youth Day Crew to the station, they bring an exciting energy to the building,” says Adams.

Entries close on Tuesday, 3 May 2016. All grade 11 scholars can apply. The application should include name, surname, school and two contact telephone numbers and must be sent to youth@algoafm.co.za
