Algoa FM receives an amazing 10 nominations for the 2017 Liberty Radio Awards

The finalists for the 2017 Liberty Radio Awards have been announced, and Algoa FM

has been nominated in 10 categories. With over 450 presenters, producers, shows and stations having received this prestigious award since, 2010, Algoa FM stands in line to add to the awards count.

Daron Mann, who has twice before won the award for ‘breakfast presenter,’ has again been nominated in this category. In addition, Daron together with co-hosts Charlie T, Lee Duru and producer Cornelius Poisat, have been nominated in the category “Breakfast Show” for the DMB.

Wayne Hart has been nominated in the category, “Afternoon Drive Presenter.” The Algoa FM Top 30, also hosted by Hart, has been nominated in three categories, namely: “Daytime Show,” “Music Show” and “Weekend Show.” The Algoa FM Top 30 has also previously won an award for best music show.

“I’m absolutely stoaked for my team,” says Algoa FM’s Operations Director, Alfie Jay. “We’ve been so focused on our audience and it is truly humbling to receive such esteemed recognition.”

We are also extremely proud to announce that the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer has received two nominations under the categories, “Community Project” and “Promotions/Stunt Event”. “It’s a great accolade for a fantastic event that is entrenched in the hearts and minds of our community. We’re extremely happy with the nominations,” says Toinette Koumpan, Algoa FM’s Marketing Manager.

We also received two nominations for the Algoa FM App launch under the categories, “Multi-Channel Promotion” and “Promotions/Stunt Event”.

“Our nomination for “Multi-Channel Promotion” is a big deal to me as it talks directly to how effective we are in the multi-media space,” says Jay.

Finally, we’ve been nominated twice in the category: “Promotions/Stunt Event,” and effectively this means Algoa FM is also competing against itself.

The winners will be announced at the Liberty Radio Awards Banquet on the 22nd of April at the Sandton Convention Center.
