The tenth season of the popular M-Net Idols auditions is coming to Port Elizabeth thanks to Algoa FM.
Last year Algoa FM lobbied hard with the M-Net team to bring the auditions to the friendly city and this year they got it right again.
Auditions will be held in The Boardwalk Amphitheatre.
The auditions will take place on Thursday, March 13 from nine in the morning.
“Get to The Boardwalk early if you think you have what it takes to be South Africa’s next Idol winner as only 70 spots are available for contestants to go through to round two,” says Toinette Koumpan, Marketing Manager at Algoa FM.
Judges for the first round of auditions on Thursday will be Algoa FM presenter Charl Leslie, Director of Two Tone Music, Gareth Williams and Managing Director of Radio Active Productions Publishing Bronwen Nel.
Round two auditions will take place in The Boardwalk International Convention Centre on Friday, March 14 at nine in the morning.
“Only three of the seventy contestants will go off to Johannesburg to show the rest of the country what we already know, that the Eastern Cape has talent”, says Dave Tiltmann Algoa FM managing director.
Those who make it through to the second round will be judged by Algoa FM Presenter Charlton Tobias, Mnet Idols Voice Coach Malie Kelly, Mnet Idols producer Anneke De-Rideer and Lani Lombard HOD for their Publicity and Special Projects.
Last year Port Elizabeth’s very own Christina Williams made it to the top six of the 2013 M-Net Idols competition and the year before that Melissa Allison was the season eight runner up.
“If you think you have what it takes to be the season ten M-Net Idols winner then be sure to be at the auditions on Thursday,” says Koumpan.
