The ANC has lost its court bid to get the Electoral Commission to deregister former president Jacob Zuma's MK Party.
The Electoral Court, sitting in Johannesburg on Tuesday, found that there was nothing unlawful about the MK party's registration
Judge Lebogang Modiba ruled that the ANC’s complaint lacked merit, was not urgent, and said the court did not have any jurisdiction to hear the case.
The judgment comes a day before the ANC and MK Party lock horns again in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court on Wednesday over the MK Party’s alleged copyright infringement.
