Bhanga gunning for Bobani's chair

DA provincial leader, Nqaba Bhanga, will be resigning from the Eastern Cape legislature.

This, to allow him to focus on his bid to become the next mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay.

The council is due to meet next Thursday where a new mayor, deputy mayor and chief whip are expected to be elected.

The seat became available after the UDM's Mongameli Bobani was ousted last year.

In a post on his Facebook page on the 27th of last month, Bhanga announced that he had submitted his application to serve as DA mayoral candidate in the Metro.
