The ANC has come out on top in Wednesday's municipal by-elections in the Eastern Cape.
The governing party secured all the wards which were contested in seven municipalities.
In Nelson Mandela Bay, the ANC retained ward 17 in New Brighton with an overwhelming 91.5% victory over the EFF.
The ward became vacant following the death of ANC Councillor, Ncediso Captain, last year.
Meanwhile, the ANC received 51.9% of the national votes, securing 28 wards, the DA won five wards while the EFF failed to win any.
Elsewhere in the country, the Democratic Alliance was shocked by the results in Ward 18 in Eldoradopark, Johannesburg where they lost their ward to the Patriotic Alliance (PA).
The PA got 62% of the votes compared to the DA's 22% in the 2016 Local Government Elections, the PA had 3% of the vote compared to the DA's 81%.
