When Kiwi Devan Touhey moved to South Africa almost 30 years ago it was for the sport of rugby. Little did he know then that he would leave a legacy as a pioneer of a rather different sport in this country – bungy jumping!
Devan’s company, Face Adrenalin, have been running the famous Bloukrans Bridge bungy operation since 1997. At 216 metres (709 ft) above the Bloukrans River, on the border of the Eastern and Western Cape, it remains one of the highest commercial bungy jumping sites in the world.
