Residents of Nelson Mandela Bay can breath a sigh of relief now that punitive water tariffs have been relaxed. 

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) began its three-day elective conference at Nasrec on Friday, where 2 500 delegates from across the country are set to elect new leadership, review the party's performance, and chart its course for the next five years. Delegates arrived on Thursday and registered at the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto campus. 

Transnet National Ports Authority has reinstated the tanker berth at the Port of Port Elizabeth and expects its next liquid bulk vessel call next week on the 18th of December 2024. TNPA acting port manager David Goliath says the construction works aimed at reinstating the tanker berth commenced in September, following an incident that severely damaged the infrastructure and rendered it non-operational.
