Many thanks to the kind courtesy of Desigan ‘Sanders’ Govender, Dealer Principal of Mazda Durban, I got behind the wheel of the Mazda CX-60 AWD, a powerful expansion of the Mazda SUV range. Govender exudes passionate about the Mazda brand and waxes lyrically about the Japanese marque. Aesthetically, the CX-60 is up there with the best any SUV can offer. The interior is finely crafted to ensure luxury and comfort. The drive is equally impressive. Smooth as you like with no noise vibrations and harshness. Plenty of power when needed. Under the bonnet is a 2.5 Litre in-line 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC S-VT (SKYACTIV-G) petrol engine perfectly mated to an 8 speed gearbox producing. Combined driving in the city and on the national roads produced around 8 litres per 100kms. It certainly seems that the folk at Mazda are a community of artists and engineers who work to create cars you’ll simply love to drive.
