Young Uitenhage boy in wheelchair killed after being hit by a bakkie

Uitenhage police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after an 8-year old boy in a wheelchair was hit and killed by a bakkie in KwaLanga on Saturday evening.

Spokesperson, WO Basil Seekoei says the boy was pushed by his 10-year old niece, when a white bakkie veered out of the road, and hit them on the pavement.

He says the boy died at the scene, and the 10-year old girl was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Seekoei says the driver of the bakkie fled the scene, and anyone with information is requested to contact the police.
