Residents are up in arms over long-standing service delivery issues.
The Walmer Country Club off Victoria Drive appears to have borne some of the brunt of protesters who took to the streets for the second day today.
According to the club manager, Mike Viviers, says they were advised by the police to close the club this morning.
He says people then broke into the various places including the bowling club.
Two people were reportedly arrested for stealing liquor.
Viviers says the vandals burnt the electrical cables in their workshop and pump-house.
Meanwhile protesting residents of Walmer Township in Port Elizabeth are gathered in Heugh Road between 8th and 10th after being driven out of Main Road by police.
Earlier, police used rubber bullets, stun grenades and teargas to disperse hundreds of people who gathered outside the Walmer police station demanding the release of a man who was arrested for public violence.
One woman is said to have broken a leg in the stampede to escape the teargas while some people were seen vomiting after being overcome by the smoke.
The situation is said to be calm but tense at the moment.
