Vicki Terblanche murder case finally moves to High Court

The murder case against the boyfriend and estranged husband of Gqeberha mother Vicki Terblanche, has finally been transferred to the High Court, almost two years after her death.

Thirty-four-year-old Reinhardt Leach is accused of drugging his girlfriend Vicki, before suffocating her to death with a pillow.

The State believes that Vicki's estranged husband 56-year-old Arnold Terblanche ordered her death, as she was murdered a day before she was due in court to contest their divorce.

The accused will now make their first High Court appearance on the 4th of October.

Terblanche spent 15 months in prison before being granted bail of R1 million while Leach, who has been in custody since his arrest, abandoned his bid for bail.

A third accused Dyllan Cullis is already serving an 18-year prison sentence after taking a plea deal with the State.

Vicki Terblanche's body was found in a shallow grave on the outskirts of Gqeberha on the 23rd of October.

Defence attorney Alwyn Griebenow says they have still not received the final indictment against Terblanche but will hopefully be furnished with the docket before the 4th of October.
