Another Eastern Cape teacher has appeared in court for allegedly sexually abusing learners at his school.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says the 35-year-old man is accused of sexually violating 21 boys at the Mdingi Senior Primary School.

NPA spokesperson, Luxolo Tyali, says the teacher appeared in court in Lusikisiki and will remain in custody until next Friday when he's expected to apply for bail.

Tyali says in a statement that the alleged abuse occurred between November last year and October this year.

He said the married teacher would lure the boys to his home under false pretences before exposing them to pornography and then asking them to masturbate.

Tyali says it is even alleged that he forced some victims to watch others touch themselves.

The NPA says the teacher is alleged to have collected the semen from his victims, however, it is not yet clear what he did with it.

More charges could be added as the investigation continues.

The state will oppose his bail application.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old Eastern Cape teacher appeared in court this week on charges of raping two Grade 12 learners, who are now pregnant.

The suspect appeared in EmaXesibeni, formerly Mount Ayliff, on Wednesday.

Tyali says it is alleged that he would lock the girls, aged 18 and 19, in the strong room where he would forcefully rape them.

The teacher was suspended from the Ntsizwa High School, while the Department of Education says its providing support to the two learners.

The teacher will also apply for bail next Friday.
