Trial of man accused of raping mother starts in Mossel Bay

The trial of a middle aged man from Great Brak River who allegedly raped his own mother, starts in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Monday. 

The 42 year old man from Tergniet is accused of raping his 79 year-old mother over a period of time and also of raping a 9 year-old girl. 

A report from the Valkenburg Psychiatric Hospital found that the accused was of sound mind when the alleged crimes occurred. 

His mother has since died of natural causes.
